It is with shock and broken hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Luke on Monday, September 23, 2024, at the age of 60. Beloved husband of Jennifer Major. Devoted father of Alexander (Allie), Isaac (Roxana) and Zachary (Shawna). Stepfather of Devin Major (Pat) and Riley Major (Launa). Proud grandfather of Arthur, Elena, Sebastian and Avery. Luke will be truly missed by his parents Eugene and Valerie O’Beirn and his sisters Roseanne, Benita, Melissa (Paul) and his brother Matthew. Son-in-law of Randy and Donna Gendron. Brother-in-law of Karry (Ian), April and Amanda. Luke will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews from near and far. They will miss hearing his stories about “The Woodshed” and the “Llama that was supposed to be dead”.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Luke’s life in the Lower Lounge at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a time of sharing at 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations to Sault Area Hospital Cath Lab would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A second Celebration of Luke’s life will be held in New Liskeard and will be announced at a later date.

We would like to personally thank all of the Emergency care staff, especially Amanda Gendron who showed tremendous compassion and love to her beloved brother-in-law during the last moments of his life. Thank you to all of the nurses that sprung into action. This includes Erikka, Cory, Rayanne, Farisha, Dakota, Alannah, and Nikki. To all of the Cath Lab staff including Christine, Carissa, Kate, Chantal, and Jen. A huge thank you goes out to the doctors that never gave up and showed so much support and empathy that guided us through, especially Dr. Evans, Dr. Woolridge, and Dr. Ghosh. www.northwoodfuneral.com
