April 23, 1963 – April 26, 2025

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Oicle, beloved fiancé, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Known to many by his racing nickname “Blackjack #88”, Kevin passed away peacefully following a courageous battle, surrounded by love.

Kevin is predeceased by his father Ed Oicle and his mother Sarah. He is survived by his stepmother Joy, his loving fiancé Jen MacIntosh, devoted brothers Dan Oicle (Norma) and Shaun (Terri) Oicle, cherished sister Bonnie Oicle (Aaron), and step-siblings Lloyd and Susan. He was a proud and special uncle to Meagan, Melissa (Ryan), Robyn, Scott, Ryan, Coleton, Kyla, Harley, and Tyler, and a great-uncle to Sophie and Elliot.

Kevin’s devoted furry companion, Lincoln, shared a profound connection with him even during the most challenging times.  Lincoln remained by his side with his protective presence and boundless displays of affection.

Kevin possessed a great passion for motorsports. He especially loved stockcar racing and as a fierce competitor on the track, his 21-race winning streak earned him the nickname “Blackjack”, a lasting tribute to his impressive skill and talent.

He will be remembered for his bold spirit, his deep loyalty, and the laughter he brought to those around him. Kevin was deeply loved by his family and many lifelong friends.  Kevin’s kindness knew no limits; he was always ready to lend a hand and would be willing to help anyone who needed it.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 28, 2025, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Grand Gardens Downtown (68 Dennis St, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 2W9) for family and friends.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all those who supported Kevin throughout his courageous battle with cancer. We are profoundly thankful to Dr. Booth, Dr. Saltman, Dr. Rassouli, and Dr. Power for their expertise, tireless efforts, and unwavering commitment to exploring every possible option to support Kevin’s fight.  We know that they never gave up—and neither did Kevin. Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to Kristy, Jen, and Nikki at the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic, whose consistent support, kindness, and presence helped us face each day with strength and hope.  The compassionate care provided by the staff at Arch Hospice brought immense comfort during his final days. A special thank you to Connie, Tom, Ashlyn, and Jude for making Kevin’s birthday so meaningful—it was a moment of light in a difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to ARCH Hospice (https://www.archhospice.ca/donate) or Tracy’s Dream (https://www.gofundme.com/f/fd9gu-tracy039s-dream/donate?source=btn_donate) (payable online or by cheque) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
