With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Armando on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the FJ Davey Home with his family by his side, at the age of 82. He is loved and will be greatly missed by Franca, his devoted and caring wife of 54 years. Loving father of Adriana (Jamie) and Luca (Marie). Very proud Nonno of Sarah, Sofia, Alexander, and Chiara. Beloved brother of Lina Guidoccio (Bruno). Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Filippina, and his brother Enzo. He will be fondly remembered by his parents-in-law Anna and Giuseppe Bernardo, his brothers-in-law Armando, Orlando, and Giancarlo Bennardo, and his many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Born in Aiello Calabro, Italy, in 1943, he left home to begin work at 16 in Germany and later moved to Canada at 19. He worked many jobs to establish himself before deciding to train and be licensed as a hairstylist. Firmly believing that we can do anything we put our minds to, he earned his diploma and opened his own salon in 1967. After revisiting Italy to marry Franca, they returned to Canada where he helped her get her hairstyling diploma. Together they ran a successful salon for more than 50 years.

A hardworking and determined businessman, Armando's passion for success was surpassed only by his love and commitment to his family. He liked soccer, enjoyed music and dancing, and loved sharing food and playing cards with friends and family. He will be profoundly missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service in the Chapel at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie & Algoma District or the SAH Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Sincere thanks to the staff at the VON Day Away, the Alzheimer Society Adult Day Program, the SAH, and the FJ Davey Home for their care. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.northwoodfuneral.com
