PERES, Rudolph (Rudy) Carlo Q.C.

Surrounded by family, Rudy passed away peacefully on Monday, March 20, 2017 in his 90th year. Loving husband of Angelina (nee Borsellino) for 60 years. Son of the late Ilia and Arcadio Peres. Amazing father and the hero of the late Lori Ann, David, Andrea, and Stephen (Delia). Wonderful grandfather of Christopher (Kelly), Matthew, Kristiana, Megan, Zoe, Nicolas, and Zachary. Brother of John (Clelia). Loving uncle of Gregory, Lisa, Stephanie, and many nieces and nephews in the Palango and Speziale families. Rudy was a man of courage, gentleness, kindness, style, and grace. He was known as a true gentleman, family man, advocate and pillar of the Italian community in Sault Ste. Marie. A Graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, Rudy served as the Vice Council of Italy, was the Grand Venerable of the Order of the Sons of Italy, he was a member of the Rotary Club, A Founding Member of the Italian Housing Corporation, Recipient of the Justice I.A. Vannini Award of Merit, past Board Member of the Group Health Centre and a Lifetime Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 2 until 4 pm and 6 until 9 pm. Funeral Mass held from Precious Blood Cathedral on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 10 am. Rev. Kumar Kanagaraj officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to ARCH or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
