On Sunday, November 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, Abbie decided it was time to reunite with the love of his life, Lynne, after almost 17 years of being apart. Also welcoming him with open arms is his son Richard, his parents Sam and Rose as well as all his brothers and sisters.

Left behind to continue to share all the memories are his children: David (Karen), Brian (Sherry), and Christine Ciaschini (Robert). His grandchildren who thought the world of their grampa/papa: Matthew (Amber), Jeffery, Ali (Ryan), Ty, Corbin, and Kassie. Special great grampa of Brooklynn, Ryder, McKenna, Cooper, Kaydance, and Aubrey. Dear brother of Jimmy (late June) and Joe (late Margaret). Abbie will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Our family would like to express our heartfelt thank you and gratitude to the nurses, PSW’s, and staff on A side at the Ontario Finnish Resthome (MKK). The amazing care, love, and compassion you gave to Dad/Pops/Abbie during his time at MKK does not go unnoticed. Each one of you had a huge impact on dad’s transition and we as a family will be forever grateful.

At dad’s request, cremation has taken place, and a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flower, donations to the Ontario Finnish Resthome or the Alzheimer’s Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District would be greatly appreciated by the family.
