It is with profound sadness that the family of Lila announces the peaceful passing of their wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 87. Beloved wife of Claude for 71 years. Cherished mother of MaryAnn Cole (late Lyn), Ronnie (Sandra), Robert (Carol), Diana McComb (Kim), Debbie Garrioch (late Bill), Marty, Susie (Jeff Reeves), Paul, Donny (Lisa) and Karen Collins (Mike). Lila is now reunited with her loving daughter Claudia Colizza. Loved mother-in-law of Jim Colizza. Proud and devoted Grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, who were all the lights of her life. Lila is predeceased by her parents Anne Swire (late Ray) and Joseph Couture and siblings Glenna Therrien (Don) and Cora Monteith (late Walter). She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and family friends. Lila took great pride in her love for her family and cooking. The kitchen was the heart of our home and where we got to share our Mom with our friends and make unforgettable memories. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 11:00 am until time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 1:00 pm. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Algoma Autism Foundation or Angelman Syndrome Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A heartfelt thank you to the Doctors, Nurses, PSW’s and all other staff on 3C at the Sault Area Hospital for the care and compassion shown to our mother.
