June 10, 1926 – March 5, 2016 - Loretta went peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, March 5, 2016 at the F.J. Davey Home. Love for Loretta will never die in the hearts of her late husband, Ted, her children, Deanna (Peter Whitehead) of Calgary, Alberta, David (Julie Brown) of Vancouver, British Columbia, Daniel of Penticton, British Columbia and Lisa (Ed Sowka) of the Sault and grandchildren Benjamin and Nolan Cail and Kate, Kassia and Lily Piotrowski. Special mom to Barb Beer (Roy Yarema) and lifelong friend of Joyce Wilson. Daughter of the late Clement and Veronica Nolan. Devoted sister to the late Bernard Nolan (late Beatrice), late Lloyd Nolan (late Irene), late Doreen Beer (late Bev Playford), late Gloria Kitts (late Roy) late Joseph Nolan (late Ellen), Vivian Gemler (Alfred) of Florida, Lorna Foster (late Bill), late Gerald Nolan, Dolores Gentile (Guido), Gary Nolan (Marnie) and Jack Nolan (Pam). Much loved Aunt Loretta to many nieces and nephews and their families. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, ON in a little house on Cameron Lane into what would become a bustling, loving family of twelve children, Loretta deeply loved and lived for family. An independent strong woman who valued education and had a singular gift for speaking her mind, Loretta cherished and was loved by family, friends and community. She worked in logging camps, businesses in a young Sault Ste. Marie, and in later life at St. Gregory's rectory. Aside from her role as a social convener for the multitude of Nolan family gatherings in her home, Loretta also volunteered for the P.T.A., C.W.L., General Hospital and her wonderful walking club to name a few of the gifts she gave to our community. Loretta walked alongside her husband, Ted through a lifetime of love, challenge, hardship and laughter. Together they built their home, raised four children with great pride and delighted in their five grandchildren. She survived the passing of her parents, some of her siblings (including her dearest Doreen), and the challenges of breast cancer and Alzheimer's. After a long, courageous battle waged with extraordinary dignity and strength, Loretta can now join her beloved Ted and those loved ones who have gone before her. A private gathering was held for Loretta at Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre 705-759-2522. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Society in honour of Loretta would be appreciated. More thanks than there are words for the constant love of her beloved Barbie and the wonderful staff of 2nd Driftwood Beach and 3rd Driftwood Beach at the F.J. Davey Home.
