It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Plastino, who died peacefully surrounded by family at St. Joseph's Hospice on June 6, 2025, at the age of 75, after a brave battle with multiple myeloma.

Michael was the beloved husband of Tricia (née Drury), with whom he shared 50 wonderful years. He was a proud and devoted father to Jim, Joseph (Kathryn), and Jerry (Tory), and a loving grandfather to Michael, Joseph, Elizabeth, Emmy, Audrey, and Eli.

Born in Cleto, Italy, Michael was the son of the late Vincenzo and Vincenza Plastino. He was a dear brother to Ralph (Lina), Joanne (Gary), Frank (Deborah), and Marie. He is also lovingly remembered by his in-laws Maribeth (late Randy), Bob (Bernice), and the late Valerie, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Michael built a successful career as a Chartered Accountant (CPA), proudly operating his own practice in Sault Ste. Marie for over 40 years. He was a man of dedication and integrity—committed to his work, his family, and his garden, where he tended to his tomatoes with care and pride.

Those who knew Mike will remember his dry sense of humor, his gift for storytelling, and his deep appreciation for the people and experiences that shaped his life.

The family is especially grateful to the health care teams at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Sault Area Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, and to the incredible palliative care staff at home and at St. Joseph's Hospice.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London, on Tuesday, June 10 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph's Hospice, London, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
