January 2, 1932-April 1, 2025
Long time resident of Sault Ste. Marie, late of Ottawa, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Lois was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Eugene, in 2009. She will be missed by her children, Paul, Douglas and Cathryn, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Over her life she had many different jobs, as she supported her mother, from the age of 16. When she married, she continued to work a variety of jobs as well as taking night courses to obtain her high school diploma. Her focus changed to raising her children. Her desire was to allow her children to experience opportunities she never had. Later, it was decided to go into business with dear friends, Roy (late) and Darlene Bye. They bought the Esso Station and Restaurant in Heyden. She has always stayed close friends with Darlene.
She accepted Jesus as her Saviour in her 20’s and lived to honour him raising her children in church. She always found her family a church home whenever we moved. She spent many hours volunteering at each church. A great prayer warrior, she spent many hours praying for family, Canada, our government, and the ekklesia.
When her mom went into ‘Tendercare’ she started volunteering her time there.
She continued to volunteer there for many years.
At 79, Lois moved to Ottawa to be close to her daughter and family. She lived independently until she was 90 when she moved in with her daughter. She loved visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoying the time spent together, even visits from across the country. She also continued to visit with her sons whenever possible and called them on a regular basis, just to check in.
There will be a family gathering later to celebrate her life: a life well lived.
