RAINS, Orrell Owen

(October 26, 1929 - October 28, 2016) - At the age of 87, Orrell passed away peacefully at the Algoma Manor in Thessalon, Ontario. He will be sadly missed by his best friend Laurel, sons Michael (Dianne) and Timothy (Seana), brother Gordon (Jo) and sister Roberta Boyer. Grandchildren Ryan, Derek and granddaughter Krystne. Great grandchildren Jakob and Kayla. Predeceased by his wife Mary (nee Nelson), father Glynn and mother Sarah (nee Brown) and sister Clara Jean Laplante. Orrell will be remembered by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Orrell loved his camp, gardening, outdoors, hunting, boating and especially the winters on his snow machine. He enjoyed meeting his many friends and going to Drummond Island across the ice for Happy Hour. He often spoke of the enjoyable trip he had with George and Jane Sharpe to Elliot Lake, Chapleau and Timmins by snowmachine and then again to Elliot Lake, thank you George and Jane for showing Orrell this great time. His first motorcycle ride, thanks George. I would like to thank all the staff at the Algoma Manor, especially for the care Orrell received on Peaceful Pine. The staff are all a very caring and compassionate group of beautiful people. Cremation has already taken place. Memorial contributions to the Algoma Manor, Parkinson Society of Canada or the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
