1942-2025
Surrounded by his family at North Shore Health Network – Blind River on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, Keith peacefully passed away at the age of 82. Loving husband of Margaret Ralph, proud stepfather to William (Anna), Sharon (Greg), Robin, and Darcy (Nicole) and proud step-grand-father to Issy and Shayna. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers, Glenn (Laureen), Greg (Sue Brown) and Colin. He is predeceased by his parents Norman (Betty) and Marie, his brother Ian and his nephew Christopher. He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Keith was born and raised in Toronto. After a career in the Toronto Fire Department, he embarked on a second career as a school bus driver. After many years in Southern Ontario, Keith and Margaret moved to Iron Bridge to enjoy their retirement, spend time with Margaret’s older brothers and as Keith would say “the fresh Northern air”.
He was a familiar face in Iron Bridge as he was a volunteer and Board member of the Recreation Committee for the Arena. He supported Margaret with her work for The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Agricultural Society and the Museum. He liked to attend the many auctions held between Algoma Mills and Echo Bay and especially enjoyed hearing he had the winning bid. He also enjoyed attending the many luncheons and dinners put on by the community groups and always looked forward to the butter tarts and sugar pie from his favourite restaurant.
He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at North Shore Health Network – Blind River for their kindness and outstanding care, especially during his final days. They also want to thank his friends and neighbours for all their support and unwavering friendship.
A Celebration of Keith’s Life is being planned and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers for the Celebration of Life, please consider a donation in memory of Keith to the North Shore Health Network Foundation, Arthritis Society Canada, or a charity of your choice.
