Beloved father and grandfather passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at New Hope Valley Assisted Living. Age 86 years. The son of the late Raymond L. Roe Sr. and Hazel (Zenzen) Roe, Ray was born March 21, 1930 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #439. He married Mary Jane Licavoli, the love of his life, on May 12, 1962. She predeceased him September 9, 2013. Ray earned his Bachelor’s Degrees at Michigan Technological University and was a Registered Professional Engineer. He began his career at Fisher Contracting in Midland, Michigan working his way up in the company serving as its President. Ray retired in 1995 following 35 years of service. Ray had a love for music and began playing trombone as a child. He played and recorded music and was a member of numerous bands including the Saginaw Eddy Band where he served on its Board of Directors. Ray was an avid Detroit Tiger and Red Wings fan. He also enjoyed working puzzles and spending time with friends. Most of all, he loved time spent with his family. Surviving are two daughters and two sons, Patrice and Dave Gilbert; Michael and Terri Roe; Jennifer Roe Lazzaro; Matthew Roe; three grandchildren, Anthony Lazzaro, Nathan Myers and Morgan Myers; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joseph Licavoli and Sandy Roe; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Ray was preceded in death by a brother, Lynnwood “Skid” Roe.

Funeral service will take place 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (Saginaw). Rev. Fr. John Johnson will officiate. Private interment will take place Monday at St. Andrew Cemetery where military honors will be presented by American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Sunday from 12:00 noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center.
