ROWLAND, Doreen

Peacefully passed away at the F.J. Davey Home on Friday, November 4, 2016.  She was born in Toronto, ON on October 27, 1925 and resided in Sault Ste. Marie, ON and Tucson, Arizona.  Beloved wife of the late Jeff Rowland.  Loving mother of Penny Turrentine of Tucson, Arizona.  Cherished grandmother of David of Tucson, Arizona, Tricia Turrentine-Shell of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Stefani Walsh Dunne of Toronto and Brooke Walsh of Montreal.  Doreen was predeceased by her daughter Pat Walsh of Scottsdale, Arizona and her parents John and Isabel Ruston.  Doreen was very active in the Canadian Red Cross.  Her hobbies were gardening and interior decorating.  Being an astute business women, she ran Gone West “western wear” in Arizona and a wallpaper business in the Sault.  The family is indebted to a number of people who provided so much love and support over the past ten years: Susan and Michael Steinwedel who became our angels and adopted family, to the staff of Premier Homecare Services, especially Nancy Taylor who provided such companionship and care and to the staff of the F.J. Davey Home especially Evelyn Moore who provided not only excellent care but loving support to the whole family.  Friends and family are invited to a Memorial service at Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 1 pm.  Rev. Rosalie Goos officiating.  Interment Hilton Beach Anglican Cemetery.  Memorial contributions to the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated.
