(April 22, 1938 – April 1, 2025)

With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, best friend, sister, daughter, wife, and Nana on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Joan is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of nearly 60 years, Louis. Cherished mother of Eva Marie Ryma (Tony), Louann Janicki (Trevor), and Susan Thomson (Dave). She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Nicholas Ryma; Jordan and Taylar Janicki; and Matthew and Danny Thomson.

Daughter of the late Arthur and late Yvonne Morgan. Daughter-in-law of the late Giulio and late Virginia Russiani. Loving sister of Dan Morgan (Colleen) and Robert Morgan (Sharon). Sister-in-law of the late Eva and late Frank Lotto, Norma Martynuck (late John), late Eldie and late Fred Perlini, Jules Russiani (Marilyn). She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Joan was a hardworking, spiritual, and kind woman, known best for her cinnamon buns, pizza, and signature meat pies. Her kitchen was always open, and her meals brought comfort and joy to all who gathered around her table. Her unwavering Catholic faith carried her through life’s challenges and continues to inspire her family and friends. We all take comfort in knowing she is now in the loving arms of God and at peace.

Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church (211 Pentagon Blvd) on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 am. with Rev. Charles Abiamiri officiating. She will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) may be made to St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church or ARCH would be appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Daniel Fritz, and Dr. Andrea Gutauskas, as well as home care nurse Jennifer, for their compassionate support. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522) Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be made at www.arthurfuneralhome.com
