It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rick Samson, a devoted husband to Annette Samson and loving father of Kaleb (Shelby), Kira, Shelbey (Brad) and Kevin (Taylor). Rick will be remembered by his favourite little man Carter and sweet granddaughter Alaurah. He will be missed by his siblings, nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. Rick will also be missed by his many friends that he was so grateful for and loved with his whole heart.
Rick lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with laughter and an adventurous spirit. He believed in always choosing joy and spontaneity. Whether it was a last-minute fishing trip, a backyard barbecue filled with laughter, or simply having a drink with family, Rick found happiness in the everyday moments and shared that joy with everyone around him.
Rick was the best friend of his beloved wife Annette. Their love was a beautiful partnership built on laughter, trust, and unwavering support. He was her rock, her confidant and her greatest love. Together, they created a life full of love and adventure.
As a father, Rick was everything his children could have asked for – fun, wise, supportive and endlessly loved. He was always there to cheer them on, offer guidance, and remind them to enjoy their journey in life. His lessons, love, and laughter will live on in them forever.
A Celebration of Rick’s Life will be held on Friday, April 4th, 2025, at O’Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St. James St, SSM) from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, where family and friends will gather to share memories, laughter and love – just as he would have wanted. As we bid farewell to Rick, lets honour his memory by living as he did, full throttle.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations in Rick’s honour be made to the Sick Kids Foundation (payable online or by cheque).
