Peacefully at the Mapleview Nursing Home on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the age of 73. Predeceased by his parents Dr. Charles and Mary-Jane Shaver. Survived by his partner and friend Carol Keenan and his lifelong friend Wendy Shaver. Beloved father of Courtney Shaver (Jason Viens) of Sault Ste. Marie, Tracey Shaver and Michael Shaver both of Sudbury. “Papa Bob” of Caden Drover, Sydney Drover, Paige Drover, Mason Viens, Savannah Shaver and Myla Nancy Shaver. Brother of the late Mary Eleanor Painter. A celebration of life will be held in August 2017. Bob was the proud former owner/operator of Bruce Mines Insurance Brokers and Bobbers Restaurant and he was the former Mayor of Bruce Mines. A heartfelt thanks to the staff at Tunnel Lake, Mapleview for their care, compassion and kindness they gave to Bob. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer Society (Algoma) would be appreciated.
