Passed away at home with family by her side peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the age of 88. Beloved wife and best friend of Everett for 70 years. Loving mother of Lorrie Shelswell-Lippe (Eric Hamilton)(late Ian Lippe). Adored grandmother of Crystal McDonald (John). Great grandmother (G.G.) of Seth and Adam. Emily was born and raised in Orillia Ontario and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Denne. Predeceased by her sisters and brothers Elizabeth Grigg (late Gordon), Evelyn McEdwards (late Jim), Roy Denne (late Cora), Archie Denne (late Marie) and James Denne (late Edith). Sister-in-law of the late Reginald Shelswell (late Marie) and John Shelswell (late Bernice). Emily will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, her many friends and her “kitty” Ginger. Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 1 – 4 pm and again on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm. Funeral service to be held in the chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Sam Norbo officiating. Spring interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Salvation Army, ARCH or charity of your choice would be appreciated. Emily's optimistic spirit and love have truly been a blessing and inspiration to us all. She will leave us with beautiful, happy memories we will cherish always.
