SOROKOPUD, Stan 'Hub'

Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at The Sault Area Hospital, on Sunday, February 21, 2016, just a month shy of his 85th birthday. Survived by his devoted wife Jeannette. Father of Renee (Stephen) Wysynski, Lettie (Joe) Della-Savia and Paul Sorokopud. Grandfather of 4 grandchildren. Brother of Nina (George) Zanatta, Sophie (William) Sachro, Rita (late Herbert) Markhoff, Jenny (Wayne) Somes and Bill. Predeceased by his brothers Melo (Mary) and Adolf. Brother in law of Edesse (late Joseph) Verdone and Levina (Donald) Masters. Predeceased by Adrien Sauve, Rita (late Marcel) Barnes, Elie Sauve and Edward (late Mary) Sauve. Son of the late Nicholas and Yawdokia Sorokopud.  A private family visitation and service will be taking place. Graveside interment to follow at New Greenwood Cemetery. The family would like to thank Donna and Marci of CCAC, all the compassionate nurses, staff and volunteers of The SAH 3B unit and the Doctor’s involved in Stan’s care. Memorial donations in Stan’s memory may be made to The SAH Cancer Clinic and would be greatly appreciated by the family. Stan enjoyed his time spent at the cottage in Ranger Lake. Whether it be fishing, hunting or spending time with family and friends, it was the place he loved best. Awaiting his arrival in Heaven were his brother in law Joe and his best friends Guido (Potts) and Eino.
