TARASUK, Joseph Walter “Jack” – Passed away peacefully in his 92nd year, on Saturday, February 3, 2024 with family by his side after a brief illness. Uncle Jack will be fondly remembered by Irene DeLuca (Ken), Vickie Zuke (Michael), Steve Tarasuk (Anna), Janice Tribble (Rob), Michael Comer (Joanne), as well as his grand nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his beloved parents John and Justine, brothers Mike, Peter, Steve (Mary), sister Mary Comer (Ed), nephew Dennis Tarasuk and niece Linda Robbins.
Jack was a founding member of the Bay View Athletic Club and hockey manager for their teams for many years. Sports were an important part of Jack’s life, as he was a dedicated fan of the Green Bay Packers and Toronto Blue Jays. Never to be slowed down by obstacles he faced in life, with determination and humour he enjoyed many years of bowling, bocce, hunting, fishing, travelling and visiting casinos. He delighted in a nightly brandy and frequent get togethers with family and lifelong friends. His warm, wonderful smile will be remembered by all.
Friends and family are invited to visit at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church (293 St. George’s Ave East) on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Hayes officiating. Memorial donations to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association (OFRA) or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
