It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Uncli at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the age of 86 after a lengthy illness.
Beloved son of the late Werner and Helga Torala. Pentti is predeceased by his siblings Elli Mollari of Sault Ste Marie, Matti Torala (late Maija) and Vaino Torala (late Laina) of Finland. Pentti will be sadly missed by his nieces Kaija Breton (Jean-Paul), Ritva Mollari and Helena Mollari (Peter Derasp) and nephews the late Voitto Mollari and Matti Mollari (Heli). Pentti was very active and involved in his great nieces and nephews lives here in Canada especially Markku, Matti Jr., the late Heidi, Danielle, Nicole, Lana, Haley, Ryan, Aaron, David and Liisa. Pentti was also very close with his family in Finland and Sweden especially Anita Seikkula (Jorma) and their sons Ville Mikkola (godson) and Joona Seikkula. Partner in life with the late Mirjami Annala and dear stepfather of Maarit Steinwedel and special grandpa Pentti of Liisa and Mitchel Steinwedel. Pentti was a longtime friend of the Annala family. Pentti will be sadly missed by his lifelong friend Anelma Susimaki. Pentti loved Finnish music and dances, loved to travel, cross country skiing and spending his days with family and friends. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at MKK for the care and compassion during Pentti's lengthy stay.
At Pentti's request there will be a private service with interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association would be appreciated by the family.
