It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dad, Richard Kenneth Truman in his home, on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the age of 69.

Richard was a loving, kind and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to spend time with his family camping, golfing, fishing and gathering together for dinners. He was always there to help take care of and spend time with his Grandchildren and enjoyed watching his Grandsons play hockey and baseball.

Richard was a welder by trade and studied at the Hobart Institute of welding during his early 20s. He worked the majority of his career at the Forge and Fab department of Algoma Steel until his recent retirement.

Richard was the loving husband and best friend of the late Paula Truman. Beloved father of Trisha (Larry), and Kenneth (Emilie). Cherished grandfather of Noah, Charlie, Nick, Hannah and Evan. Beloved brother of Nancy, Doug (late Dawn) and Alan (Laurie). Richard was also dearly loved by many brothers and sister’s-in-law: Late Patti (Mike), Bill (Sylvia), Danny (Manuela), late Michael (Diane), late Jack (late Darlene), and Betty-Jo. Richard will be fondly remembered and missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

As per Richard's wishes, a cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be arranged at a later date. Memorial donations may be made payable by cheque to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation - Cancer Care Clinic in his memory. Arrangements entrusted to O’ Sullivan Funeral Home, 215 St. James Street, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, P6A 1P7, 705-759-8456.
