Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Algoma Residential Community Hospice after a long battle with cancer. Loving wife of the late Ernst Volk and cherished mother of Diane Rosalia Thomas (Glen). Predeceased by her parents Wilhem and Anna Siebke and her siblings Emil Siebke (late Gerda), Ernst (late Anna), Heinrich, and Erna Denz (late Aloise). Loving Aunt of Helena Denz, Linda Putnam (Dave), Bob Denz (Carol), Albert Denz (Linda) and their families in the United States, and Eddie Siebke (Andrea), Edna Farrell (Steve), Pattie Pyne (Jim) and Thomas Siebke (Charylen). Elizabeth was born April 20, 1930 in Cappel, Germany and travelled here aboard the MS Gripsholm oceanliner in 1954. She married Ernst Volk in 1957 and they had their one and only child Diane in 1962. Elizabeth had a great interest in plants and flowers and a love of animals that she shared with her daughter Diane, now herself, a longtime florist. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11 am. Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. We would like to thank all of those at ARCH for all their tremendous help and friendships, along with the wonderful volunteers including Dekland the sheltie puppy. Most importantly we want to thank the other patients and their families for sharing their friendships while we all dealt with this sad journey. A truly special thank you to the V.O.N. "Wednesday gang" that Elizabeth was a part of for a number of years and a huge thank you to volunteer Debbie for the extra special friendship. A huge thank you to her close friends and her casino friends for the love they have given her in her life. Lastly a thank you to the staff of WE CARE, and the doctors and nurses that have taken care of Elizabeth over the years and the gals at Tamar's Trends for their love and support.
