Our Pa, Tato/Tatone/Tats will be missed very dearly as all of his family was the most important. He cared deeply for all of us. He was a very generous man who helped his family and friends and enjoyed being social. Valentino had a special friend from his hometown in Italy, Antonietta Trovarello. They were a great support to each other. Valentino had many friends who adored him. He was a very social, kind and generous friend.
He was born in Abruzzo Italy in the town of Bucchianico, Chieti, which was a very beautiful town with many good memories. Our Dad became a very proud citizen of Canada.
Valentino married in 1958 and arrived in Montreal where he stayed for a short time as he was interested in moving to Sault Ste. Marie. He was employed at the Weyerhaeuser for 2 years. Then he took a position at the Algoma Steel Plant as a Crane Operator for 30 years.
The Volpe family would like to thank his friends and neighbours who supported him. Thank you to March of Dimes, and all the doctors and nurses that he received care from on 3C at the Sault Area Hospital. Special thank you to Dr. Dawson and the nurses who cared for our dad in his final moments.
