With his beloved wife Mary by his side, on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the age of 79. Roy and Mary shared 55 years together. Dear brother of Wayne Wilson (Susan) and the late Gene Wilson. Brother-in-law of the late Wilfred Jarrett (Margaret) and the late Shirley Angove. Predeceased by his parents Fred Wilson and Doris Lapish and his parents-in-law “Mom and Pops” Eva and Wilfred Jarrett. Loved uncle of Carol Weber (Ross), Dawn Grein (Bob Simpson), Patti Cameron, Ronald Jarrett (Gina), Nadine Naughton (Bill) and Sandy Wilson (Michael). He will be remembered by 12 great nieces and nephews and many great great nieces and nephews. Roy was known for the love he had for his tugboat “The Queensville” and for his tugboat family. Also for his dedication and support over 45 years along with Mary, to his girls The Bandettes all Girl Drum and Bugle Corps. Roy had many years of joy with lifelong friends from near and far who are forever in our hearts. His passion and entrepreneurship really showed over the years of building Palm Harbor Resort, Florida, from the ground up. Roy was retired from Algoma Steel after 37 ½ years of service in the Electrical Department as an Electronic Repair Man. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 6 to 9 pm. Memorial service from the chapel on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11 am. Rev. Bruce McLeish officiating. Entombment St. Luke’s Columbarium. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Group Health Centre Trust Fund, Sault Area Hospital Foundation or to ARCH would be appreciated.
