Passed away peacefully at the FJ Davey Home with family by her side on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the age of 97. Predeceased by the love of her life Roy Young. Daughter of the late Alice and Ernie “Tipper” Millward. Beloved mother of Randy (Pat) and Diane Billingsley (Roger). Grandmother of Cathy Hicks (Doug), Debbie LeClair (Todd), Jim Young, Jason Young (Nancy) and Scot Billingsley (Taffy). Step-grandmother of the late Dale Billingsley, Steven Billingsley and Mark Billingsley (late Rosanne). Special Gram of Michael Redmond (Laurie) and Velvet Harten (Greg). Will be missed by many great and great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her siblings Susie Anderson of England, Ernie Millward (Peg), Kitty Kennedy (Lorne), Isabol Pyykonen (Frank), Selena Barbeau (Harvey) and baby brother Stephen. Sister-in-law of Margorie Mitchell (late Joe), late Ed Young (Fran) and Bob Young. Olive will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Olly was one of the first from Sault Ste. Marie to enlist 1939 CWAC. She owned O.M. Young Bus Lines in Goulais River for many years. She had a love of the outdoors, especially ice fishing at Ranger Lake. Thanks to the Windsor Park, Great Northern Retirement Home and the FJ Davey Home Cedar Grove I for their compassion and excellent care. Thank you to Mary Moore for being a good friend to Mom until the end. Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 are requested to assemble at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 1 pm for a service for the late Olive Young.
Interment will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11 am at Goulais River Cemetery. A visit and luncheon will take place at Captain Tilley Park, Hwy. 552 W. following the interment.
