TORONTO — Police say a man accused of fatally stabbing a 29-year-old woman in Toronto is now charged with first-degree murder.
The stabbing took place on Sept. 2 at a law office in downtown Toronto.
Investigators say Julia Ferguson died in hospital three days later.
A 33-year-old man was later arrested and was initially charged with second-degree murder.
Toronto police say the charge was upgraded on Tuesday.
The man remains in custody.
