OTTAWA — Emergency responders have recovered a body during a search for two missing men in the Ottawa River.
Ottawa Police say the two went missing near Bate Island yesterday.
Police say witnesses saw the men carried away in the water while they were fishing.
Officials say a multi-agency search by Ottawa Fire, Gatineau Fire and Ottawa Police resulted in the discovery of the body of one of the individuals at about midnight last night.
A full search for the second man continues this morning.
Police say the families of both men have been notified and supports have been put in place.
