Quebec reports 169 new COVID-19 cases, one additional death

MONTREAL — Quebec is reporting 169 new cases of COVID-19 today in addition to one new death linked to the virus.

The province has now reported 58,583 confirmed cases and 5,667 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, as well as 50,812 recoveries.

The province has averaged nearly 160 cases a day for the past week, according to provincial figures.

Meanwhile, the province has seen a steady decline in the number of patients in hospital, with that number dropping by nine to 197 today.

Of those cases, 10 were listed in intensive care, a decrease of two.

The province has also steadily increased the number of tests conducted the past several days, reaching 16,387 tests as of Friday, the last day for which statistics were available.
