Ontario Provincial Police have charged a Blind River resident with assault after a heated exchange took place on Saturday night.
Police say the assault took place on Woodward Avenue in the Town of Blind River shortly after 8:00 p.m.
In a press release issued today, OPP say the complainant was seated in a vehicle when there was an exchange of words with the accused. Police say the accused reached in through a vehicle window and struck the complainant on the right side of the face.
As a result, Carrie Byerley, 42, has been charged with assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on May.
