A Brampton woman was arrested after officers seized suspected cocaine and Canadian currency during a traffic stop near Batchawana Bay on July 7.
During a vehicle search, Sault Ste. Marie OPP officers seized:
• Over $20,000 in Canadian currency
• Over 3 grams of suspected cocaine (estimated value of over $200)
• Four cell phones
• One digital scale
As a result of this investigation, 34-year-old Melissa Shrugold is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21 and stands charged with property obtained by crime over $5,000.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Shrugold is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
