A driver from Iron Bridge has been charged with suspended driving after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 129.
The accident took place on Dec. 27 shortly after 8:30 p.m. north of Wharncliffe. Police say the northbound car left the roadway and slid sideways into a ditch.
Police say the car then continued on, colliding with two telephone booths before coming to rest in a trading post parking lot.
As a result of the investigation, Tammy Tonelli, age 50, from Iron Bridge, was charged with driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Provincial Offences Court in Sault Ste Marie on Feb. 5, 2021.
