Police say a man wanted for failing to attend court was arrested by officers on routine patrol in Elliot Lake.

On April 27 at around 7:30 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police arrested the man on Tokyo Crescent.

Police said they were conducting regular patrol duties when they recognized a person who had an arrest warrant for failing to attend court on March 4 to answer to previous drug related charges.

David Jack (D.J.) Willett, 34, of Elliot Lake, was arrested and charged with:

  • Failure to attend court while on release order
  • Failure to attend court after having appeared

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on April 28.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Willett is considered innocent until proven guilty.
