Man with Sault connections wanted on Canada-wide warrant

Police say a federal offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant as a result of a breach of his statutory release is known to frequent Sault Ste. Marie.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad is requesting the public's assistance in locating Nicholas Pears.

Pears is described as a Caucasian male, 57, five-foot-nine and 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

In a news release police said Pears has several tattoos:

  • Skull and Dragon on his right upper arm
  • Reaper and a Clown Face on his left arm
  • Devil on his Shoulder
  • Barbed Wire on his right wrist

Pears is serving a sentence of six years and five months for:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition.
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order.
  • Fail to comply with conditions of an undertaking.
