BLIND RIVER MAN CHARGED IN ASSAULT
Blind River, Ontario
At approximately 3:07 a.m. on November 4, 2006 the East Algoma OPP received a complaint of an assault, reported to have occurred in the area of Woodward Avenue and Hudson Avenue in Blind River.
Due to the nature of the injuries initially reported, the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) was called to assist with the occurrence. Detective/Inspector Ken Leppert was assigned to case manage the investigation.
Charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm is Joseph DUBE (25) of Blind River. DUBE is scheduled to appear in court on January 4th, 2007.
The victim’s condition has been upgraded to non-life threatening and he remains in hospital.
The scene has been released and is now open to the public.
Drug Selling At Mountainview School
Sault Ste Marie OPP received a call on Friday from Mountainview Public School, Goulais River, reporting the selling of drugs on school property. OPP responded to the complaint and as a result of the investigation, one male young offender was charged. The charges are Possession For The Purpose of Trafficking and Traffick, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The male was released to his parents and court is pending. Further investigation is being conducted.
