A Sault Ste. Marie resident was arrested in Webbwood Monday evening after Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) determined the vehicle the accused was driving had been reported stolen.
A news release issued today by OPP states that 39-year-old Chrystal Petrocco faces a number of charges as a result of this investigation.

NAIRN-HYMAN TOWNSHIP - On Jan. 3, 2022 at approximately 7:52 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complainant of a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 17, Webbwood.
Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Further investigation revealed the motor vehicle was stolen.
Chrystal Petrocco, 39 years old from Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested and charged with:
• dangerous operation, contrary to section 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code (CC)
• possession property obtained by crime over $5,000, contrary to section 355(a) of the CC
• operation while prohibited under the criminal code, contrary to section 320.18(1)(a) of the CC
• driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
• race a motor vehicle - stunt, contrary to section 172(1) of the HTA
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on March 7, 2022.
