Assault Charges
(Blind River, ON.) – On the evening of December 30 a local male was out with some friends at a local drinking establishment in Blind River. At 1:45 a.m. while sitting at a table with friends he was made aware that there was someone in the bar wanting to fight him. Almost immediately he was attacked by a male while still sitting at the table. The victim stood up while being struck in the head and was then restrained by a second male. The first male continued to punch the victim when a third male joined in. The three males then pushed the victim to the floor and repeatedly struck the victim until the bartender and door man were able to stop the fight. The victim was taken to the Blind River hospital for treatment of his injuries where he was kept overnight and released in the morning. The three males have been all charge with the criminal offences of assault cause bodily harm and causing a disturbance. Charged are:
1) Andrew Donald JACQUES, 24 years of age from Blind River
2) Matthew CADA, 23 years of age from Blind River
3) Mark BISSAILLION, 24 years of age from Blind River
The three males were later arrested and are scheduled to appear in Blind River court on March 1, 2012.
