FAMILY CONCERNED OVER MISSING PERSON

(Blind River, ON.) East Algoma OPP received a call of a missing person from concerned family members. Family last had contact with 62 year old Alfred Lionel PHILLIPS on August 18, 2009. PHILLIPS had given up his residence in Blind River and was moving to Sault Ste Marie to live with a family member starting in September. PHILLIPS never attended at the new residence and family is worried. PHILLIPS is described as:

- 5’10”
- thin grey rescinding hairline
- brown eyes
- 240 lbs

PHILLIPS may be driving a 1992 black ACURA 2 door Ontario plate BAJS426 or a 1919 Ford Ltd 4 door Ontario plate 904 JKN. PHILLIPS may be in the Blind River, Elliot Lake or Sault Ste Marie area. Police are asking for the publics help. Anyone who may have seen PHILLIPS or know of his whereabouts to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

COTTAGE DESTROYED BY FIRE

(Kehoe Twp., ON) – Sault Ste. Marie OPP assisted the Echo Bay Fire Department in responding to a structural fire on Echo Lake Road in Kehoe Township yesterday evening at around 10:00 p.m.

A 2-story A-frame cottage was completely destroyed. There was no one around the cottage at the time.

The investigation is continuing.
