SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. - U.S. Coast Guard Station Sault Ste. Marie will conduct an ice rescue and safety demonstration on Munuscong Lake of the St. Marys River, this Saturday at 10 a.m. near Dan’s Resort.
This demonstration is intended for all novice and experienced recreational ice users. The Coast Guard will share best practices regarding the use of personal safety gear, procedures for saving yourself or responding to someone falling through the ice, and Coast Guard capabilities to employ life saving techniques on the ice.
All are invited to attend, including the media. The demonstration will occur on the ice near Dan’s Resort, at 23477 S Bay Rd., Pickford, Mich., 49774.
