Starting tomorrow morning, anyone in Michigan who is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will no longer have to wear a mask.

A post on Chippewa County Health Department's Facebook page outlines the updated Michigan Department of Health and Human Services order, which states the change takes effect at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 15.

Under the updated rule people in Michigan who are outdoors will no longer need to wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status. Those who are fully vaccinated will no longer need to wear a mask indoors.

The post reminds residents who are not vaccinated or who have not completed their vaccinations to continue wearing a mask or face covering.

The entire mask mandate is slated to expire on July 1, unless extended.

As Michigan loosens mask-wearing rules, Ontario continues under a provincewide lockdown with masks still mandated regardless of vaccination status.
