Local filmmakers take home hardware from 2019 Soo Film Festival

Two Sault Ste. Marie natives, Luke Grandmont and Dallas Varcoe, won an audience choice award in the Foreign Narrative Short category for 'Reminiscing' at the recent 2019 Soo Film Festival. The short was also written by and stars long-time Sault resident Norris Pyette.

A news release outlining all category winners issued by the Soo Film Festival follows:

The 2019 Soo Film Festival took place Sept. 12-15 at the historic Soo Theatre and Bayliss Public Library in downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Festival attendees are asked to choose their favourites by ballot. By audience acclaim, those films are:
