After an incredible career spanning over 25 years, multi-award-winning country music group Emerson Drive has announced that 2024 will be its final year of live performances, in a farewell tour titled "One for the Road: The Final Run." The Machine Shop in Sault Ste. Marie is one of the few stops on this once-in-a-lifetime tour.
This decision comes after a lengthy career during which the band has achieved enormous success in the country music scene. The tour kicked off in the spring of 2024 and includes only 16 to 18 dates across North America. Emerson Drive will perform at The Machine Shop on August 10 at 8 p.m.
Emerson Drive burst onto the North American country music scene in 2001 when the members released their debut single through DreamWorks Records Nashville. Their first two singles – “I Should Be Sleeping” and "Fall Into Me" - both peaked in the Top 5 on the Billboard Country chart and quickly became fan favourites. For the next four years, the band played over 300 shows a year across North America, earning both Billboard Music Award and ACM Award wins.
In 2007, the group released its career-changing hit "Moments," which earned the band its first Billboard #1 in the US. The band also made history with this song as the only Canadian group to ever achieve a #1 US Billboard Country single. Emerson Drive also received a 2008 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Performance by a Group or Duo in this exciting year.
With over 60 million global streams, 40 billion radio impressions, 22 Top 10 singles, over 4500 shows played, millions of miles traveled, and countless awards and nominations from the Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association, CMT, Dove Awards, GRAMMY Awards, JUNO Awards, Billboard and the Canadian Country Music Association, Emerson Drive has a lot to celebrate as they wrap up an enviable touring career that most artists can only dream about.
