Northside Toyota is once again embarking on its annual Fill the Tundra campaign, a community initiative dedicated to fighting hunger in Algoma. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this important event and Northside Toyota is inviting the community to join them in driving down hunger.
From now until December 14th, residents are encouraged to drop off donations of non-perishable food items in Tundras located at Pino’s Get Fresh, Rome’s Independent Grocer, and the Northside Toyota showroom which is located at 803 Great Northern Road. Monetary donations can also be made at grocery store checkouts. All donations stay local and will be distributed to St. Vincent Place and the Sault Ste. Marie Soup Kitchen.
“This holiday season marks our tenth year of Fill the Tundra, a cherished tradition where we come together to support local food banks,” said Mario Palumbo, Dealer Principal of Northside Toyota. “The campaign is a powerful testament to the incredible strength and generosity of our community. In coming together to fill the bed of the Tundra with canned goods, we are not only stocking shelves but filling hearts with hope. Donating is more important than ever, as it helps provide nutritious meals to families facing food insecurity during this especially challenging season.”
Partnering to Support the Community
When individuals and businesses come together to support an important cause, great things happen. Northside Toyota’s annual Fill the Tundra event brings together community members and local businesses to increase the positive impact of their initiative.
“This initiative is a reminder that when a community unites with a shared purpose, we can overcome any challenge. Let us transform the Tundra into a symbol of compassion, proving that together, we have the power to make a meaningful impact and nourish the spirit of giving that defines us as a community,” says Palumbo.
Giving Year Round
Northside Toyota, which is a locally owned and operated family business, has been supporting the community in a variety of ways for their 30 year history. In addition to their annual Fill the Tundra campaign, they are dedicated to the community and support local youth and sports initiatives, including the U15 AAA Soo Jr. Greyhounds, Sault Youth Soccer Club, and the mixed slo-pitch team.
“These partnerships reflect our commitment to fostering growth, teamwork, and community spirit in the Sault,” says Palumbo.
