As of Sept. 27, the following tests are available at the following rates:
Antigen: Reduced from $149 to $79. Results in as little as seven minutes.
PCR: Reduced from $499 to $449. Results in 24 hours in Sault Ste Marie and three hours in Thunder Bay.
Molecular: Only $299 for this new service. Results in as little as 13 minutes.
Molecular testing is the latest type of test NorthStream is offering. This test can detect the RNA of the coronavirus, making it much more sensitive than the antigen. As it can detect the RNA from small amounts and early on in the infection process, the chances of false negatives are also very low. The technology in identifying and testing for COVID infections continues to evolve – NorthStream is pleased to remain on the cutting edge of the technologies and processes that keep you safer.
