Ignition Eatery is one of the newest restaurants to open in downtown Sault Ste. Marie.
Among the co-owners is Sonny Spina, a Ward 1 city councillor who spent many years as a Sault police officer.
For him, the transition from policing to restaurateur was a natural one.
"In policing, you're sometimes dealing with people who are going through a really difficult time," he says. "What I found is that when I went home, I loved to cook. Everyone's smiling, even if it doesn't turn out, people are laughing, sharing stories."
