A bald eagle found laying at the side of the road last month with shotgun wounds has been released back into the wild.
The massive bird was found on the C-Line near Clark's Cove on St. Joseph Island on June 11 and has been the subject of a Crime Stoppers campaign to find those responsible.
The bird was taken to Northland Animal Hospital, where it was cared for and recovered. It was released back into the wild at the end of July, says the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry in a message relayed via Crime Stoppers.
