VIDEO: Sault comes out for Kayge

Motorcycles escort family of young Sault boy whose very public battle with cancer ended last week

Kayge Fowler's family had a hero's welcome as they returned home tonight.

The community has rallied around the young Sault boy, whose battle with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a highly aggressive form of brain tumour, ended late last week.

A line of motorcycles accompanied Kayge's family as they returned to the Sault from Toronto tonight. It is a little over a year since Kayge's mother and father, Mandy and Paul Fowler, first learned their then-five-year-old had an inoperable brain tumour on his brain stem.

Saultites also stood along the route to witness the family's return and a Facebook support group has been flooded with tributes.
