A 28-year-old is facing an impaired driving charge after a community member expressed concern to a Sault Ste. Marie patrol officer in the east end on Tuesday night.
Around 8:30 p.m., police say an officer on Chambers Avenue was approached about a potentially impaired driver.
Police then conducted a traffic stop near the Glenwood Avenue and Gibbs Street intersection.
A breath sample was taken and the driver allegedly registered over the legal limit.
Police say the driver was arrested and provided two more breath samples, both of which registered results over the legal limit.
Christopher Church is charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80+).
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
