Sault Police seized a lot of drugs and cash during a downtown traffic stop Wednesday night.
After pulling over a vehicle near Bruce Street and Grosvenor Avenue at around 8:30 p.m., officers noticed that the man in the passenger was wanted for failing to comply with a probation order.
Police say a search of the suspect turned up a knife “that opens by hand pressure applied to a button,” approximately 14 grams of suspected fentanyl worth $2,100, a digital scale and $5,170 in Canadian currency.
Jordan Porter, 34, is charged with:
• Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order x2
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
• Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Failure to Comply with a Probation Order
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Porter is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
