Sault Police say they arrested a driver who sped through a red light and then refused to provide a breath sample.
Police say officers spotted the driver in the area of Trunk Road and South Market Street at around 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 6.
“Officers conducted a traffic stop and read the accused multiple demands for a breath sample,” says a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “The accused refused to provide one.”
Robert Eshkibok, 42, is charged with:
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
- Failure to Stop at Red Light (under the Highway Traffic Act)
He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled back in court on Oct. 7, 2024.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and Eshkibok is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
