Robbery Update: Accused Males Identified:

Earlier Release: Four Males in Custody for Robbery at Shoppers Drug Mart:

Investigation Services are currently investigating a robbery that occurred at 4:41 pm yesterday at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Second Line West. One male accused entered the pharmacy, produced a note indicating he had a gun and demanded oxycontin. The male fled on foot towards Korah Road with an undisclosed amount of oxycontin. Police attended on scene, an investigation commenced and approximately 20 minutes later, police arrested four males believed to be involved in the robbery. Two males were arrested during a vehicle stop on Asquith Street and shortly after, the other males were arrested at a west end residence. The males are currently in custody all charged with robbery. There are no other details to be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.


Accused Males Arrested and Charged:

1) 19 year-old Andre Cormier of 317 North Street has been charged with one count of Robbery, one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, one count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Controlled Drug or Substance and one count of Breach of Probation.
2) 21 year-old Aaron Raschke of 170 Church Street has been charged with one count of Robbery, one count of Trafficking in a Controlled Drug or Substance, one count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Controlled Drug or Substance and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
3) 29 year-old Derek Roberts of #4 Alpine Street has been charged with one count of Robbery, one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and one count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Controlled Drug or Substance.
4) 24 year-old Mark Strain of 431 Albert Street West has been charged with one count of Robbery, one count of Possession of a Controlled Drug or Substance and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He was also charged with an additional count of Use Stolen Credit Card in relation to unrelated incident he was wanted on.

All four accused males are to appear in bail court this morning. The investigation is ongoing and there are no further details to be released at this time.

Domestic Related Arrest:

A 56 year-old male was arrested on the 13th of August at 1:08 pm at his residence and charged with one count of Assault. It is alleged that on the 13th of August at approximately 12:40 pm the accused assaulted his common law part at their residence. The victim received non-life threatening injuries during the incident. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested for Driving While Disqualified:

44 year-old Joseph, Ernest Seguin of 28 Jackpine Crescent in Sudbury was arrested on the 13th of August at 8:25 pm on Great Northern Road and charged with three counts of Operate Motor Vehicle while disqualified and one count of Breach of a Release Document. It is alleged that on the 13th of August the accused was located by city police operating a pickup truck on Great Northern Road while he was disqualified from driving. At the time of the offence the accused was on an undertaking release order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is to appear in court on the 14th of September.

Shoplifting Charges:

1) 39 year-old Deborah Marino of 682 Albert Street West (rear) was arrested at the city police station and charged with one count of Theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 11th of August around 3:17 pm the accused attended at the West 49 store in the Station Mall and stole some clothing from the store. She is to appear in court on the 14th of September.

2) 20 year-old Gilbert Wilson of #11-110 Wilding Avenue was arrested on the 13th of August at 1:25 pm at Wal-Mart and charged with one count of Theft under $5,000.00 and one count of Resist Arrest. It is alleged that on the 13th of August at approximately 1:20 pm the accused stole some items from the store and at the time of his arrest he resisted the store security officer. He is to appear in court on the 14th of September.

Property Crimes:

Break and Enter Reports:


• A residence on Cambridge was entered sometime during the 5th – 13th of August. A Sony Bravia Television and surround system were reported stolen.
• An attempt break and enter was reported to a garage in the 600 block of Fourth Line.

Theft Report:

• A cell phone was stolen from a vehicle on Portage Lane.

Mischief Report:

• A front passenger window of a vehicle parked on Cathcart Street was smashed.
